PATIENT CARE COORDINATOR

This position supports the company's philosophy of patient centered care by coordinating excellent customer service to patients.

Job/Position Specific Duties

  • Answers the telephone and disburses calls in a friendly, prompt and professional manner. Conveys messages accurately and appropriately.

  • Coordinates Patient, Medical and Insurance records in a timely manner to ensure prompt delivery and payment for medical equipment and supplies.

  • Enters orders accurately and according to defined policies.

  • Handles routine Patient questions as they arise and forwards questions requiring research to the appropriate staff.

  • Pursues activities with focus and drive, defines work in terms of success, and can be counted on to complete goals.

  • Adherence to standards of business conduct and compliance.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure

  • Knowledge of basic computer software, and the ability to learn billing software and electronic medical records required

  • Communicates well with patients and medical staff

  • Prior experience in fast paced service industry or customer service role preferred

  • Prior experience in a medical office setting preferred but not required

RECEPTIONIST/OFFICE ASSISTANT

This position supports the company's philosophy of patient centered care by answering telephone calls and facilitating the appropriate office support in coordinating excellent customer service to patients.

Job/Position Specific Duties

  • Answers all incoming calls in a timely and professional manner demonstrating appropriate customer service.

  • Directs incoming calls appropriately while maintaining confidentiality; taking messages and relaying them in a timely manner.

  • Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers; resolves any customer requests in a timely and accurate manner; escalates complaints accordingly.

  • Coordinate patient information inquires: Update demographic information, investigate delivery dates, other as applicable.

  • Provide office support functions including organizing, copying/scanning and filing of patient documents. Balancing and coordinating a workload for multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

  • Maintains clean, comfortable, inviting atmosphere of reception area, promoting positive image.

  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

REVENUE CYCLE COORDINATOR

This position is knowledgeable of the specific provisions in Medicare, commercial and Iowa Medicaid (Managed care organization) contracts as they relate to billing/reimbursement. Individual shall be knowledgeable of the most current coding policy and patient confidentiality requirements.

Job/Position Specific Duties

  • Ensures complete, accurate and timely fulfillment of patient equipment and supply orders.

  • Work effectively with ICD-10 Codes and CPT codes, Revenue codes, and HCFA 1500 terminologies in accordance with federal, state, and commercial payor-specific regulations pertaining to documentation and coding.

  • Submits DME claims accurately and timely in compliance with all applicable company policies and procedures to meet Accreditation and company standards.

  • Identifying and billing secondary or tertiary insurances.

  • Monitor, identify and resolve claim discrepancies, denials, appeals, collections with payor sources.

  • General knowledge of accounting principles and medical claims.

  • Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers; resolves any customer requests in a timely and accurate manner; escalates complaints accordingly.

  • Regularly attends all team and staff meetings.

  • Attends additional training, performs research, e-learning to stay current on best practices and new practice management technology and functionality as it becomes available.

  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

The Revenue Cycle Coordinator is responsible for processing all recurring patient equipment and supplies in compliance with payor source requirements. As well as ensuring that claims, denials and appeals are efficiently processed.

Position requires strong telephone, verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of customer service principles and practices, and time management skills with the ability to multi-task.
