MINIMED™ 670G SYSTEM DISCONTINUATION OF NEW SALES


Medtronic is dedicated to driving innovation in diabetes management technologies so customers like you can focus more on your lives and less on diabetes. With the advancement of the MiniMed™ 770G system, Medtronic has decided to simplify the insulin pump offerings and discontinue selling the MiniMed™ 670G system starting February 1, 2021. We will continue to offer 24-Hour Technical Support for troubleshooting and will continue to offer infusion sets and reservoirs to support current customers with their therapy needs.


If you are currently using the MiniMed™ 670G sysyem, you will continue to receive the same support for your device.

OUT-OF-WARRANTY MEDTRONIC CUSTOMERS

We will continue to offer 24-Hour Technical Support for troubleshooting and will continue to offer infusion sets and reservoirs to support current customers with their therapy needs.

However, with the discontinuation of new sales, if your pump is out of warranty and were to stop working after February 1, 2021, you will not be able to purchase the same pump model you are currently using. But do not worry, we will continue to support you in this transition! We will offer you a MiniMed™ 670G continuation-of-therapy loaner pump for 90 days which will help you stay on pump therapy while you go through the purchase process of the next available pump model.

If you are interested in upgrading to our newest technology, you may be eligible for our Pump Trade-in Program, which allows you to the return your current insulin pump for a $500 Medtronic account credit when a new pump has been purchased. To check your eligibility or to learn more about our newest MiniMed™ insulin pump technology, call us at 877-585-0184 (M–F, 8AM–6PM, CT).

 

IN-WARRANTY MEDTRONIC CUSTOMERS

Medtronic will continue to provide in warranty product support and warranty replacements as originally planned through the full term of your warranty. We will continue to offer 24-Hour Technical Support for troubleshooting and will continue to offer infusion sets and reservoirs to support current customers with their therapy needs.

HAVE QUESTIONS?

I have an in-warranty MiniMed™ 670G pump. How will this discontinuation of sales affect me?

This will not affect your experience. We will continue to offer the pump supplies you currently use with your MiniMed™ 670G system. And if your pump malfunctions, we will offer you a MiniMed™ 670G replacement pump, as we normally would.

I have an out-of-warranty MiniMed™ 670G pump. How will this discontinuation of sales affect me?

We will continue to offer the pump supplies you currently use with your MiniMed™ 670G pump. However, if your pump were to malfunction after February 1, 2021, you will not be able to purchase the same pump model you are currently using. We are here to help you in this transition. We will offer you a MiniMed™ 670G pump continuation of therapy loaner pump for 90 days, which will help you stay on pump therapy while you go through the purchase process of another available pump model.

If I want to upgrade, what is the newest pump model?

You can upgrade to the MiniMed™ 770G insulin pump system. The MiniMed™ 770G system offers SmartGuard™ technology, also featured in the MiniMed™ 670G system. However, it has the added benefits of smartphone connectivity and an expanded age indication to individuals as young as two.

Individuals can now view pump and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) information on their smartphones, receive device notifications, and offer remote access to care partners. The MiniMed™ 770G system is also enabled for future software upgrades when such software upgrades are available. Customers will be offered a software upgrade at no charge through December 2021∆.
